Ltc. Timothy Joseph Olivas, 67, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, "soared on wings like eagles into the arms of our dear Heavenly Father", on September 27th, 2025. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 4th, 1958, in Albuquerque to Virginia & Braulio Olivas.
He was a devoted family man who was affectionately known as Papa Bear. He loved spending time with his family, Golfing with his sons, cousins and friends, Hiking Running, Speed walking, Dancing with his wife, RVing, and Bowling with the family. He was a man of Faith who served in many Ministries.
He was also known as an outstanding Soldier, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was an amazing family man who left us with an abundance of wonderful memories that will be cherished forever. Amen.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Virginia and Braulio Olivas, brother Leonard and beloved pet Ginger, Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Ruby Olivas, children Theodore Olivas and his wife Sonya, Trisha Mondragon, Trinity Olivas and his wife Samantha and his much loved pet Paris Grandchildren: Denise Mondragon and her fiance Kurt, Andrew Olivas and Victoria, Demitri Olivas and his fiance Mia, Vicente Hernandez Jr. and his wife Rebecca, Monica McCormick and her husband Ryan, Jordan Garcia, Isaiah Olivas, Mykah Olivas, Ava Garcia, Michael Pena, Christopher Olivas, William Mondragon, Amaya Mondragon; Great Grand Children: Axel, Hudson & Mya. Siblings Philipe and wife Judy, Hilda Maameur and Husband Razki, Martin Olivas, Charlie Olivas and many treasured family and friends.
Services for Timothy will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A visitation will take place at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm. Timothy will be laid to rest on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 am.
