Valentina Morrison-Manning Obituary

Valentina "Tina" Né Morrison-Manning, age 64, a lifelong resident of Tomé, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Tina was a miracle from the very beginning. Born three months premature and weighing only two pounds, her remarkable arrival and survival were even featured in the local newspaper. That strength and determination stayed with her throughout her life. For three years, Tina courageously battled cancer, facing each day with incredible strength and never giving up.

Above all, Tina was a devoted wife and mother. She was caring, loving, and selfless. She was the heart of her family and someone whose love could always be counted on. She had a beautiful soul and a special way of accepting everyone for exactly who they were. Her kindness, compassion, and warmth touched the lives of so many.

Tina dedicated much of her life to helping others. After 30 years of service, she retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Health, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to her work, her community, and the people she served.

She also knew how to enjoy the things that made life beautiful. Tina loved music and frequently attended concerts. She enjoyed arts and crafts, caring for her plants, and baking, especially during the holidays when baking with her family became part of the memories and traditions they will always treasure.

Tina is survived by her loving husband, Mark Manning; her daughters, Chastity Sanchez and Diana Frances; her brother, Max Morrison; her sister, Mikki Williams; her aunt, Sylvia McKinney; her uncle, Pete McKinney; her niece, Jade Valenzuela and husband Noé Valenzuela; her nephews, Tomas Manning and Lucas Manning; her brother-in-law, Dwight Manning; her sister-in-law, Mariana Souto-Manning; her great-niece, Kalia Valenzuela; and her great-nephew, Noah Valenzuela. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

Tina was preceded in death by her mother, Katheryn J. Morrison; her father, Max L. Morrison; and her grandparents, Clory and Né Tafoya, and Rex and Faye Morrison.

Tina's life was one of strength, love, service, and acceptance. From the tiny two-pound baby who defied the odds to the remarkable woman, wife, and mother she became, she lived a life filled with purpose and love.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Tina was deeply loved, and she will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life honoring Tina will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 6:00pm at The Green House Bistro, 5 Thomas Rd., Los Lunas, NM 87031. Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Tina's life and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
