Virginia Mae Young was born on December 16, 1922 in Brockway, Pennsylvania to Russel and Mary Harris. She died on Wednesday, October 6th, in the home she had been living independently in for the last 2 ½ years. She was next to oldest of 4 brothers and three sisters. She attended grade school in Brockway, Junior and Senior High in Bradford, PA. She then attended Pasadena College in CA, where she met the love of her life, Wayne C. Young. When WWII broke out, Wayne joined the Coast Guard and asked her to marry him. They enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage and had 4 children, Karen, Jan, Sandy and Bob. Wayne became a minister in the Nazarene Church where Virginia (Ginny) played the piano and worked with Wayne as his number one helper any way she could. The family worked together in ministry for 35 years in several churches in CA, AZ and TX. She also served as Missionary President along the way. Virginia is survived by three children and their spouses, Jan and Gary Morris of Creston, Ca, Sandy and Fred Jesse of El Dorado, CA, and Bob and Terri Young of Rio Communities, NM, along with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Wayne went to heaven on Feb 2, 1992, and her oldest daughter, Karen joined him on Feb 23, 2015. What a reunion they must all be having now! Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, CA where Ginny will be interned next to her husband in a beautiful red casket, at her request. She was spunky, kind, generous and was our mighty prayer warrior. We will miss her dearly. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., (505)864-4448, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com.
