Walter Eric Parsons was born February 9, 1948, in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of the late Elce and Virgie Parsons. As a child, he traveled around the world with his parents as a military brat. They settled in Clovis, New Mexico, where he graduated from Clovis High School. His father was a member of the United States Air Force; inspiring Walter to join the United States Air Force as well in November of 1966. After Walter's Honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, he started a new career in California with the Sante Fe railroad.
He eventually moved back to Clovis, New Mexico where he began working for the BNSF Railroad from which he retired as a Conductor Supervisor. Walter was an active member of the Masons of Rio Abajo Lodge #17 of New Mexico in January 1990. Walter met his lovely wife Alice Luster in 1983 and they wed in 1991 and with this union gained the most amazing family. On September 14, 2023, Walter was called home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elce and Virgie Parsons; his loving wife, Alice Mae Parsons; Lee Brent; 2 sons, Tony Harrison, and Demetrius Cameron; and his brother, Kenneth Brent. He leaves to cherish his memory, Daughters, Kila Parsons, Bridgett Goins (Edward), Connie Spears (Audrey), Sonya Ervin (Timothy), Cheryl Hubbard (Gary); Sons, Rodney Harrison, Gary Harrison, Cecil Berryman (Shannon); Stepbrother, Adolph Pearson; 4 Brothers, Bruce Parsons (Retha), Victor Brent (Darlene), Vernon Brent, Jonathan Brent (Tammy); 2 Sisters, Lynetta Brent, and Jovette Brent; as well as many, many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
Services for Walter will take place on Friday, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A visitation will be held at 2:00 pm followed by a Going Home Celebration at 3:00 pm. Walter will then be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
