William Tipton Obituary

In loving memory of William "Billy" Rodrick Tipton
Billy was born in Ohio and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico as a small child. He passed away August 19, 2025 at the age of 66.

Every summer, Billy returned to Ohio to help his grandfather on the family tobacco farm, where he developed a lifelong love for the great outdoors. From a young age, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and played all kinds of sports as a young man.

After meeting the Love of his life, Lorraine, he moved to Bosque, New Mexico where he started his own farm, while also working full time at General Electric. Billy was a devoted husband who found joy in his work and family.
Sixteen years ago, Billy received a life- saving transplant that gave him more time to spend with the people he loved. His story is a testament of strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. He will always be remembered for his passion for the land and his deep love for his family, and the Lord.

From sunrise to long after sunset, Billy worked tirelessly, often putting in long hours without complaint. His hands were strong, his back unyielding, and his heart devoted fully to providing for and protecting his family. He was the hardest working man we've ever known, and he taught us all what dedication, perseverance, and true grit really look like.

Billy was the most honest, caring, and genuine man you could ever meet. A man of true integrity, he lived his life with strength, humility, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. He knew what it meant to be a real man—not by what he said, but by how he lived.

Though our hearts ache at his passing, his example and his legacy will live on in every life he touched. We are proud to call him our father, our family, and our friend.
Billy is proceeded in death by his mother Melva Zurface Tipton, John Prescott Tipton, and baby sister Clara. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Lorraine Tipton; Daughters Maile Leyba and Jennifer DaCamara; son Lawrence Gonzales; Grandsons Raymundo, Billy, Shawn, Hank, Ezra and Ezekiel; Granddaughter Shiloh; Great-Grandsons Nathaniel, Anthony and Haydon; Great-Granddaughter Genises; Sisters Ruth Eden and Carolyn Peterson.

Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life August 23, 2025, details to be announced at a later date.
